Holding services in several locations in Marlette Michigan and outgrowing them all, Hope Church now has a 2-acre site to build their permanent home. The new 16,000 SF contemporary building will have a large presence on Marlette’s main north-south arterial.
The scale and massing of the building volumes articulate the organization of interior spaces. The building’s largest volume, clad in a medium-dark gray metal siding, houses the 400 plus seat Sanctuary and back-of-house activities. A fun array of windows in the classrooms is positioned to help the kids visually connect to the outdoors. The building entrance will be enclosed with burnished masonry with minimal fenestration to play down the view of the parking lot. Natural light will enter into the gathering space through a series of skylights and clerestory windows.
